Use Unconventional Tactics to Educate, Empower, and Motivate Yourself and Your Team

Inspirational Leadedership

Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage (LDRSHIP)

Brigadier General US Army (Ret.) Robert Hipwell served in the United States Army and the United States Army Reserve and the National Guard from 1968 to 2010 (42 years).

He shares his experiences and lessons from a lifetime of military service, from being stationed in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan to being on covert missions behind enemy lines in Vietnam and commanding the base where Saddam Hussein was held after his capture.

Through the real-life adventures, and questions for education, information, and inspiration, he shares the veteran’s mindset so leaders and veterans can create effective teams, productive workplaces, and inspiring atmospheres. His presentations are captivating and reveal the all too often unseen realities of war and the hidden impacts that are experienced by military personnel – both during and after their deployment.

Millions of American men and women have voluntarily joined the armed forces since that fateful day on September 9, 2001 – 9/11 – when the world changed forever.

They served their country and returned to a hero’s welcome – and a workplace that didn’t quite understand them. These patriots lived by core values. In the Army, those values are loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage.

Those values molded these people in a way civilians have never been exposed to. They didn’t merely hear those principles; they lived those principles.

They brought back invaluable skills to help companies improve teamwork, leadership, the ability to think on their feet, and the facility to respond to crises and threats. Those actionable skills are gifts that veterans can give to companies.

These soldiers can become some of the most productive workers and leaders you will ever hire.

Through the real-life adventures, and questions for education, information, and inspiration, readers will understand the veteran’s mindset so leaders and veterans can create effective teams, productive workplaces, and inspiring atmospheres.

Former Commander of the Surge in Iraq, U.S. Central Command, and NATO/ U.S. Forces in Afghanistan, and former Director of the CIA

I was truly inspired by the book written by General Robert Hipwell. As a retired veteran of 32 years in the Air Force and Coast Guard and a Vietnam Veteran I experienced some of the same scenarios that General experienced except for standing upside down from a helicopter. I started reading his life story and I could not stop reading it until the conclusion. It was thought provoking and he made all his experiences come back to life. What an incredible life and family story. I highly recommend his book to civilians and military members. You will not be disappointed. I am reading it again because of its true to life story.
